Both the boxers have 210 points.

Early Days
Lovlina was born in Assam’s Golaghat district on 2nd October 1997 to Tiken and Mamoni Borgohain. Her father, Tiken is a small-scale businessman in Golaghat. However, over a due course of time, Lovlina got an opportunity to switch to Boxing and grabbed it with both hands. It was at a boxing trial held by the Sports Authority of India at her high school, Barpathar Girls High School, that the budding boxer got recognized by the renowned coach Padum Boro. As a result, she soon started training at the Boxing Academy from 2012. After she progressed to International stage, Lovlina came under the aegis of India’s chief women’s coach Shiv Singh.

Initial Success

At the Commonwealth Games, Lovlina had an impressive start which saw her progress in the quarterfinals of the prestigious event. However, she was to face an arduous task of trouncing United Kingdom’s Sandy Ryan. Sandy is a seasoned boxer and a 2014 World Championships silver medalist.
Nevertheless, Lovlina started the first round on back foot, as four judges of the five ruled in the favour of Sandy. It was a close contest in the following rounds though, as the Indian gave her opponent run for her money. However, much to the disappointment of Lovlina, the interesting contest ended 3-2 in Sandy’s favour. (30-27, 30-27, 28-29, 29-28, 28-29) Nevertheless, that was a vital learning experience. As for Sandy, she went on to win the Welterweight boxing gold.

Lovlina later won a silver medal at the Ulaanbaatar Cup in Mongolia in June 2018. She followed it up with a bronze medal at the 13th International Silesian Championship that was held in Poland earlier in September.

SAFAL Handbook for Classes 3,5 and 8

The National Education Policy (2020) is a comprehensive framework by the Ministry of Education (MoE) to ensure quality education in India. The policy recognizes high quality Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) as an urgent and necessary prerequisite to learning. The quality of assessments in elementary grades can play a pivotal role in measuring progress towards achieving this goal and also provide guidance to each stakeholder in the system for improving learning levels. NEP 2020 recommends transforming the assessment system to promote development of students and suggests a shift from testing rote memorization to competency-based learning. To map progress throughout school years, the NEP 2020 proposes an annual school examination for all students in Grades 3, 5, and 8. This assessment will focus on testing core concepts, application of knowledge and higher order thinking skills. Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning levels (SAFAL) will ensure progress throughout school years by providing diagnostic information about students’ learning to schools and thus, support school education to move towards competency-based education. The results of this assessment will largely be used to provide development feedback to schools and not for promotion of students to the next grade.

Hiroshima Day -(6 AUGUST) History, significance, facts and impacts

History, significance, and impacts of World War II atomic bombings

On August 6, 1945 the United States dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, Japan, instantly killing over 80,000 people; three days later, a second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing over 40,000.

While the bombings effectively ended WWII by bringing about the surrender of Japan, the war's end came at a terrible price: Two cities were completely destroyed and over 200,000—mostly civilian—lives were lost, with tens of thousands succumbing to radiation-related injuries and illness in the aftermath of this devastation.

In commemoration of these tragedies, Hiroshima Day serves as a day of remembrance and as a focus for anti-war and anti-nuclear discussions and demonstrations.
